AN animal assisted intervention charity near St Columb Major has the perfect Christmas gift idea for people to purchase and help its cause.

Chy Lowen Alpacas at Tregaswith (CHAT), which provides therapy to help young people who have special education needs and mental health issues, is selling blankets made out of hair from its alpacas and llamas at £221 each.

Mary Harvey, who runs CHAT, said: “Anybody who buys one of our limited-edition blankets will be helping us to stay open.

“That same amount covers a month of insurance that will enable us to provide children with special education needs the opportunity to take in part animal assisted intervention, which is really beneficial to them.

“Our programme helps more than 30 children a week. It is so nice to see the difference it does make. Anyone who purchases a blanket is welcome to visit the animals.”

Anybody who would like to purchase a blanket or make a donation telephone 07886 529880.
