YEAR 10 and 11 students from Camborne Science and International Academy (CSIA) have embarked on an unforgettable educational visit to Winnipeg, Canada.
The week began with students settling into local school life at Fort Richmond Collegiate and Shaftesbury College, where they joined lessons alongside their homestay hosts, sampled authentic Canadian school lunches, and spent the evening enjoying shopping and dinner outings with friends.
Tuesday marked the first day of the Global Youth Challenge Student Summit, where pupils took part in specialist-led workshops focused on sustainable agriculture. These sessions offered exciting, real-world links to their geography, biology, and chemistry studies, encouraging students to think critically about global sustainability issues.
Staff accompanying the group praised the students for their enthusiasm, engagement, and exemplary conduct throughout the trip. The visit was a truly enriching experience combining cultural exchange, academic exploration, and the opportunity to develop global perspectives.
Emma Haase, principal of Camborne Science and International Academy said: “We are incredibly proud of our students for the enthusiasm, curiosity, and maturity they’ve shown throughout this international experience.
“Opportunities like this allow our young people to see the world beyond the classroom, to learn, connect, and think globally. The Global Youth Challenge in Winnipeg has been an inspiring reminder of how education can empower students to make a difference in the wider world.”
