MASK wearing burglars allegedly “assaulted and threatened” residents at a property in Newquay before making off with jewellery and a quantity of money on Sunday night.

Police confirmed three men carried out the aggravated burglary after entering a property in Trelawney Road at about 10pm.

Nobody was seriously injured during the incident and a scene guard was put in place.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police are investigating a report of aggravated burglary at a property on Trelawney Road, Newquay on Sunday 15 June.

“It was reported that at around 10pm, three males entered a property, assaulted and threatened people inside before leaving the scene with a quantity of cash and jewellery.

“Nobody was seriously injured during the incident. A scene guard was put in place.

“The suspects were described as white males and all three wore face coverings.

“Members of the public are likely to see a heightened police presence as enquiries to locate the suspects are ongoing.”
