AN award-winning gardener is giving a guided tour of her own garden in Mitchell for charity.

Kim Parish and judge at the Chelsea Flower Show is showcasing Landscapes of Distinction as part of The National Garden Scheme Cornwall on Sunday, May 31, between 1pm and 4pm.

Visitors will be able to enjoy behind the scenes guided tours and talks by the experts from all three horticultural businesses at the site, which including the Mitchell Fruit Garden, The Cornish Rose Company as well as Landscapes of Distinction.

Money raised will go to a range of nursing and health charities such as Marie Curie, Macmillan Cancer Care and Parkinson's UK.

The national Garden Scheme Cornwall said: “Visitors will experience an exclusive behind the scenes tour of the fruit growing areas, cut flower beds, poly tunnels and learn about the art of growing and propagating roses from expert Kevin Smith, at The Cornish Rose Company.

“The afternoon will culminate in a visit to the sub-tropical garden with award winning garden designer, Kim Parish.

“It has large beds densely planted with an array of exotic specimens alongside more well-known perennials, creating a sea of colour from late spring to autumn.”

“This promises to be the most fascinating afternoon.”
