RESTORMEL Concert Band recently presented a concert in Truro Cathedral accompanied by the Redruth Amateur Operatic Society Trust Singers and the Celtic Male Ensemble, both under the direction of Mr Alistair Taylor.

The event was a celebration of all things music, bringing together talented musicians from various genres to showcase their skills.

The concert, which was a great success, saw the audience enjoy a variety of music from the band, including pop medleys, show tunes and light classical.

The Redruth Amateur Operatic Society Trust Singers and the Celtic Male Ensemble sang beautiful arrangements of songs from musical theatre, film, pop, and more.

This was a charity event to raise funds for Cancer Research and the Bristol Children’s Hospital Grand Appeal.

The band’s musical director, David Hendry, is a long term supporter of cancer research, and has raised thousands of pounds over the years.

The hospital provides tertiary medical services for the South West and many local children with serious health problems have been treated there.

Mr Hendry has a family member who has benefited from treatment at BCH and the band was keen to support the appeal, which aims to raise funds for state of the art equipment, world class care and accommodation for the families of in-patient sick children.

The band was pleased to announced that the evening raised £300 for each of the two charities.
