CURIOUS minds of all ages are invited to Ocean Lab, a new week of science at the National Maritime Museum Cornwall this February half term.

Visitors can get involved in a hands-on science adventure by diving into Discovering42’s Mobile Marvels Exhibition, make a fizzy whizzy rocket, use a robot to create their own unique artwork and go exploring in the trail.

Attendees can see the hands-on exhibits, mind-bending experiments and weird science with Discovering42. Visitors can navigate a giant mechanical maze, experiment with cymatics (sounds and vibration), and even use their body to complete an electrical circuit.

They can explore the science of lift-off and make their own DIY rocket using bicarbonate of soda to create a safe, fizz-powered rocket in the museum.

Families can decorate their own little robot and then watch them come to life as the Scribblebots buzz and wiggle across the page, making playful artistic drawings as they go.

Visitors can also experience the museum’s Rocket Sensory Trail, a five-stop journey that brings rocket launch and space exploration to life. From roaring engines to orbiting space, families can discover hands-on stations exploring sights, sounds, textures, and smells.
