A NEWQUAY beach complex is appealing for donations of unwanted and unused toys for its annual fundraiser.
Lusty Glaze Beach is holding its eighth annual toy amnesty throughout January for Children’s Hospice South West.
People are invited to bring in donations of children’s toys, games, books, clothes for children up to the age of 16 in exchange for a free tea or coffee as a thank you.
The Lusty Glaze team will then drop the items off to Children’s Hospice South West at the end of the month to help the charity whose mission is to make the most of short and precious lives by providing free care for children with life-limiting conditions, and their families.

The fundraising initiative aims to turn unwanted toys and children’s items into moments of comfort, distraction and joy for seriously ill children across the region.
Andi Millson, operations manager at Lusty Glaze, said: “Each January, this feels like the most meaningful way to start the year.
“We’ve always been overwhelmed by the compassion and generosity of our community and this year we hope to go even further for the families Children’s Hospice South West supports.
“There’s still time for people to pop down, clear out a cupboard and help families who are facing unimaginably difficult circumstances.”

The Toy Amnesty is once again supported by Cornish Coffee, who have donated all the coffee beans used during the initiative, including the Lusty Glaze Roast. Meaning every cup poured during January directly supports Children Hospice South West’s work.
Adam Rickard, the director at Cornish Coffee, said: “Cornwall is a community that looks after each other. We’re delighted our Lusty Glaze Roast will help fuel this positive cause. Every cup poured represents another act of kindness for families who truly deserve all the support we can give.”
Children’s Hospice South West provides specialist respite, palliative, emergency, end-of-life and bereavement care for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions. The charity supports hundreds of families every year across the region, and relies heavily on voluntary donations, fundraising partnerships and community initiatives like the Lusty Glaze Toy Amnesty to continue delivering care.
