A main route in Newquay has been closed down after a car rolled onto its side following a collision with an unoccupied parked vehicle.
Emergency services including appliances from Newquay Fire Station, the police and the ambulance service are at the scene of the accident in Henver Road, which involved a black car at about 1.25pm. Fire crew helped the male driver out of the vehicle. His injuries are not thought to be serious.
Officers directed traffic away from the scene.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “We were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and an unoccupied parked vehicle on Henver Road.
“As a result of the collision, the car overturned. Emergency services are at the scene and local road closures are in place.
“The fire service helped get the driver out of the car. Paramedics are assessing the driver, but any injuries are not thought to be serious.
“The incident is ongoing.”
Traffic monitoring service Inrix confirms: “A3058 Henver Road both ways blocked, queueing traffic due to accident from Lusty Glaze Road to Chester Road.”
A spokesperson for Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said: “On receipt of the call fire control mobilised two appliances from Newquay and the Rescue Tender from Tolvaddon were mobilised.
“The incident involved one vehicle on its side with one male casualty released from the vehicle by firefighters. The crew then administered First Aid until the casualty was taken to hospital by a family member.The crew made the scene safe and handed it over to the police.”
