A WOMAN rescued from a cliff edge in Newquay after being suspected of causing criminal damage has been bailed while enquiries continue.
Appliances from Cornwall Fire and Rescue, Newquay Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 924, Newquay and Padstow Coastguard teams, ambulance service and the police attended the incident at Great Western Beach on Tuesday, June 9 at 8.35pm.
Police were initially called to the area after a door and a plant pot were damaged.

An arial ladder platform from Truro Fire Station was used to bring the woman to safety at 12.40am following the four-hour long incident.
The woman was initially taken to hospital. She was subsequently arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and was taken into police custody for questioning before being bailed.
A police spokesperson said: “Police were called to the Cliff Road area of Newquay at following reports of criminal damage to a door and a plant pot.
“Officers attended and a female suspect was subsequently located near to the cliff edge.
“Due to concerns for the woman’s safety, HM Coastguard, the fire service and paramedics were also called to the scene.
“The incident was resolved safely at around 12.40am and the woman was taken to hospital.
“The woman has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and was taken into police custody.
“The woman has been bailed while enquiries continue.”
