TWO people have been taken into custody after a man discovered unconscious by a river in Camborne died this morning (September 29).

Police were called to the scene on Tolgarrick Road, Tuckingmill by an ambulance crew at around 7.15am.

The man, who is believed to be in his 50s, was pronounced deceased at the scene despite resuscitation efforts.

Two men have been taken into custody and are assisting with enquiries.

A scene guard around Tuckingmill Valley Park is in place.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “We were called at around 7.15am on Tuesday 29 September by the Ambulance Service following a report of an unconscious man, by the river on Tolgarrick Road, Tuckingmill, Camborne.

“Sadly, despite resuscitation efforts the man – believed to be in his 50s - was pronounced deceased at the scene.

“Next of kin enquiries are ongoing. Formal identification has yet to take place.

“The death is currently being treated as unexplained with an investigation ongoing to establish the circumstances.

“Two men have been taken into custody and are currently assisting with enquiries.”
