IN the early hours of Sunday morning, Devon and Cornwall Police were called to a report of people exiting a boat, entering a van, and leaving Mylor Harbour.

Two people have since been arrested in connection with alleged immigration offences.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: “We were called shortly before 3am on Sunday, September 27, following a report of a number of individuals exiting a boat at Mylor Harbour, entering a van and then leaving the area.

“Officers attended and arrested two Albanian nationals on suspicion of immigration offences.”

HM Coastguard also assisted. A spokesperson said: “Falmouth's Inshore lifeboat crew were tasked as a precautionary measure by HM Coastguard at 4.22am on Sunday (September 27) morning.”

The van was reportedly recovered elsewhere.

Immigration Enforcement has opened and is leading an investigation on this matter, but no further arrests have been made at this time.
