TWO people have been arrested on suspicion of stealing metal cabling from the Par Docks site at Par.

Police officers were called out by docks security staff over the activities of two trespassers.

A St Austell Police spokesperson said: “On the afternoon of Saturday, September 26, officers from our patrol and neighbourhood teams attended the Imerys Par Docks site following a report from security about males trespassing and stealing metal cabling.

“Two males matching the description provided were located by police on a footpath leading to Spit Beach where they were found in possession of metal cabling and items used to commit theft.

“They were arrested on suspicion of burglary and detained overnight in police custody. Following their interviews, they have been released on bail pending further enquiries.”
