A 15-metre boat was damaged by fire after crews were called to Polruan on the afternoon of Monday, September 21.

Firefighters from Polruan, Looe, Fowey and Bodmin attended the incident at around 4.10pm after reports of a significant fire in the vessel’s cabin area.

On arrival, crews found smoke issuing from the boat, which was on land. Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the vessel with a main jet, while a second safety jet was established outside.

The fire was located in the accommodation area and was believed to have been extinguished.

Crews used thermal imaging cameras and a gas detector to monitor the vessel, checking temperatures and ensuring the fire had not spread into hidden voids.

Firefighters remained at the scene until they were satisfied the fire was fully out.
