A POPULAR event in the run up to Christmas is returning to the Eden Project this December in support of a local children’s charity.

Children’s Hospice South West’s (CHSW) annual Santas on the Run fun run will be taking place on Sunday, December 6.

This event usually attracts hundreds of participants of all ages keen to kick off their Christmas celebrations and raise thousands for CHSW and its Little Harbour children’s hospice in St Austell.

Santas on the Run sees participants walk, jog or run a 2km route around Eden while dressed in any festive outfit they wish stopping off at four different stations along the route. Everyone taking part getting a medal to wear proudly in the lead up to Christmas.

Spaces for this event is limited to 400 per wave, with the first wave beginning at 11am and the second wave at 2.30pm. The event has sold out for the last two years so members of the public are encouraged to sign up early to secure their place.

“Taking part in Santas on the Run is a great way to mark the start of festive celebrations, what a perfect way to start advent. It really gets people in the Christmas spirit while supporting their local children’s hospice; Little Harbour, which will be continuing to offer care to families 24/7 throughout the festive season.

There will be various fancy-dress competitions on the day so everyone is encouraged to get as creative as possible with their festive costumes.
