FIREFIGHTERS were called out to an agricultural building on fire in the west of Cornwall.

Two fire engines from Penzance went to the blaze at Buryas Bridge, to the west of the town, at around midday on Friday (September 25).

Members of the crews used hose reel jets to extinguish the flames.


On Thursday evening, two crews from St Austell Community Fire Station attended an incident in which a caravan was on fire

The fire affecting the caravan had spread to a nearby hedge at Menear Road, St Austell. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

Also on Thursday evening, two crews from Hayle put out a large unattended bonfire at Leedstown using one hose reel.
