A CAR driver has sustained serious injuries after being involved in a road traffic collision with a cement mixer on the A30 near Newquay on Monday morning.

The incident happened on the A30 slip road from the B3275 at Fraddon Services to the A3058 at Summercourt Eastern turn off at about 10.30am.

Emergency services are at the scene.

The A30 westbound is closed. Inrix, Devon and Cornwall Police’s traffic watch reports traffic is slow due to a “serious accident.”

A police spokesperson said: “We were called at around 10.30am on Monday, June 1 following a report of a collision involving a cement mixer and a car on the A30 slip at Fraddon.

“The driver of car has sustained serious injuries. The A30 westbound is closed.

“The incident is ongoing.”
