A body has been located during searches for a missing man in Newquay.
The body of a man was found in the Porth area this morning.
The police and Coastguard have been carrying out searches in the Porth and Trevelgue Headland areas since last night after Gregory, aged 65, was reported missing.

A police spokesperson said: “The body of a man has been located during searches for a missing man in the Porth area this morning.
“Formal identification is yet to take place but the family of Gregory, 65, have been informed of this development.”
Newquay RNLI Lifeboats, Padstow Lifeboat and Newquay Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 924, HM Coastguard Padstow, Newquay Coastguard Search and Rescue Team assisted Devon and Cornwall Police in the search for the missing person.

The emergency services were alerted to help the police in their search efforts shortly after 12pm. The search was carried out mainly in the Porth Island area until 4am the next morning and was restarted at 8.37am.
A Newquay Coastguard spokesperson said: “The team was tasked alongside to assist Devon & Cornwall Police with a missing person search in the Porth Island area.
“After an extensive search of Porth Island and the surrounding area all assets were stood down at 4am pending further enquiries. “Newquay and Padstow coastguard teams and Rescue Heli 924 were retasked along with the police to recommence the search in daylight. At approximately 12pm the search was completed. No further information is available at this time.”
