A Newquay fun pool will be back in action following its winter closure.

The facility at Newquay Leisure World, which features flumes, a bubbly volcano, a tippety toppety bucket and Sally the slow snake, will be re-opening on Saturday, April 5.

Newquay Leisure World manager Hannah Fautley said: “Reopening our leisure pool is always a milestone moment in our calendar and we’re looking forward to customers of all ages enjoying a splashing time.

“Kids can swim for £1 from 9am to 10am on selected days and, in addition to our regular offering of soft play, trampolining, swim schools and family fun swimming, we’re running additional junior gym sessions on weekday mornings.”

The facilities also include an all year round six-lane 25m swimming pool, a trampoline and play park, gym, fitness studios, an outdoor fitness area and a café.

A silent disco party will be held to celebrate Easter on Friday, April 11 from 5pm to 7pm for under 12s, which costs £10 per child.

Accompanying adults go free. There will also be an Easter egg hunt at the event and a temporary tattoo station.

Operating under the Better brand, GLL is the not-for-profit social enterprise that runs Newquay Leisure World and eight other leisure centres in Cornwall on behalf of the council.

Better leisure centres in Bude, Saltash, Liskeard, Bodmin, St Austell, Truro, Helston and St Ives will also be offering extended Easter programmes.

James Curry, Head of Service for GLL in Cornwall said: “Our teams work very hard to ensure all our Cornish centres make full use of their facilities during school holidays.

“There are short courses available for those wanting to brush up their tennis and swimming skills and a wide range of junior and adult fitness sessions.

“Each centre has its own timetable and booking is recommended.”
