St Blazey and District Snooker League latest
BETHEL A have a four-point lead at the halfway point of the season after a terrific 5-0 win at St Neot with Paul Baron beating Steve Courts and Mark Ashton taking out Darren Lock on the black for two major wins.
Tregonissey A are second after taking four frames at home to Mevagissey A whose sole winner was Matt Mills who knocked in a 37 break when beating Mark Paulson.
Mevagissey B picked up a welcome three points at home to Pelynt but still remain rooted to the bottom of the table. Matt Rowe, Dave Kendall and Nathan Shaw’s black ball defeat of Phil Ormond got the win with Jamie and John Daniell replying.
Andrew Best had knocks of 37 and 31 as he beat Gavin Dyche of St Blazey B and Ryan Bilson had a 32 when beating George Taylor and a win for Gary Spencer saw Luxulyan victorious with Ian Millward and Josh Bristow replying.
St Blazey A remain five clear at the top of the Rees League after beating Bethel C by four frames to one as James Smithson beat Chris Brown to save the whitewash.
Tregonissey B got all five frames at Bethel B to be equal second in what looks to be a very close call for promotion.
Tregonissey C got a great win over Gorran through Dave Tregale, Amanda Fleming and Darren Elliott with Warren Ball and Lee McKinstry getting the Haven’s points.
Bugle picked up four points at Mevagissey C to be joint second to be joined as well by Gorran Haven despite them losing to Meva C in a rearranged game the next night.
Elsewhere, Gary Spencer knocked in a superb 101 break at Bethel Social Club helping himself and partner Andrew Best into the county pairs semi-final.
