St Blazey and District Snooker League latest

TREGONISSEY A went three points clear at the top of the Victory League on Tuesday, January 13 after beating Mevagissey B by the odd frame.

Andrew Gooch, Mark Poulson and Jason Cocks were their winners with Dave Kendall’s black ball win over Geoff Merriman and Nathan Shaw the victors for the Meva boys.

Andrew Best’s 36 break followed by a 38 for Gary Spencer put Luxulyan 2-0 up at St Neot who fought back via Darren Lock, who made a 39 break and Steve Courts to level up, although leaving Justin Oxenham’s win over Ian Hawke ensured an away win.

Steve Benallack, Liam Jones and Geoff Hawken put Bethel D 3-0 up at Pelynt with the home side battling back through Paul Woodman and Richard Broad to get two valuable points in their quest to get away from the relegation places.

St Blazey B took the first two frames at Mevagissey A with Ian Millward and Josh Bristow winning, but the home side turned it around as Darren Powell, Matt Chesterfield and Matt Mills all held their nerve to continue their good season.

St Blazey A stay clear at the top of the Rees League after beating Lerryn 4-1 with Les Shakespeare beating Liam Reynolds for the away side’s sole point.

The closest match of the night saw Blazey’s Billy Vigus secure a single point win over James Stephens.

Darren Elliott, Amanda Fleming and Dave Tregale all won as Tregonissey C beat Mevagissey C who replied through Oliver Watson and Adrian Evans.

Paul Smithson and Howard Brett took the first two frames for Bethel C at home to Tregonissey B, but black ball wins for Ryan Orchard and Nate Taylor ove Ben Stunell and Leigh Rosevear respectively, allowed Mark Haworth to seal the comeback.
