St Blazey and District Snooker League latest

TREGONISSEY A scraped through to the semi-finals of the Team Pairs on Tuesday night against St Blazey B.

The contest finished 2-2 in frames, but went through having scored 10 more points on the night.

Andrew Gooch and Kevin Harris won the first frame by 59 points against Gavin Dyche and Nick Ferguson, but Clive Stuthridge and Josh Bristow won the next 2 frames reducing the deficit to a single point.

However, Geoff Merriman and Jason Cocks won the last on the black to proceed to the semis.

Luxulyan picked up a fine 3-1 win at St Neot with Andrew Best and Harrison Burdon winning both of their frames, and went into the last frame with a 58-point advantage which Justin Oxenham and Gary Spencer increased by beating Darren Lock and Chris Perring.

Mevagissey progressed after a comfortable 3-1 win at home to Tregonissey B with Ben Prynn and Matt Mills winning both of their frames easily. Ryan Orchard and Mark Haworth secured Tregonissey’s only success.

Bethel A were 3-1 victors at St Blazey A with Paul Baron knocking in a fine 53 break in the opener as he and Andy Peers beat Liam Reynolds and Stuart Dewings.

Liam Reynolds and Billy Vigus levelled things up against Mark Ashton and Matt Green,, but the Bethel boys took the next two frames to progress.

There were two rearranged games in the Rees League, including Bugle securing all five frames at home to Bethel B to go joint top as Jake Moore, Keith Moore, Roy Bayliss and Dave and Colin Rundle all got the job done.

Bethel C came from behind to win 4-1 at Mevagissey C as after Adrian Evans took the opener against Howard Brett, Ben Stunell and the Smithsons – James, Roger and Paul – all took victory in their respective frames.
