St Blazey and District Snooker League latest
BETHEL A took advantage of Tregonissey A having their bye week to jump to the top of the Victory League after beating Bethel D 4-1.
Matt Green, Mark Ashton and Garry Stephens – the latter who made a 30 break – put them 3-0 up, but it looked good for the D team as Liam Jones made a fine 41 break in the next frame only to lose to Paul Baron as he went in off the Black.
However, Geoff Hawken’s black ball defeat of Andy Peers got the D team a much-needed point.
Justin Oxenham and Andrew Best put Luxulyan two frames up at home to Mevagissey A who levelled up with Matt Mills and Ben Prynn, who had breaks of 31 and 33.
Gary Spencer’s defeat of Matt Chesterfield settled the result in Luxulyan’s favour.
Mevagissey B got two points at home to St Neot with Matt Rowe and Nathan Shaw both winning to lift them off bottom spot.
Darren O’Shea, Darren Lock (49 break) and Steve Courts all won for the visitors.
Tregonissey B got all five frames against their C team to go joint top of the Rees League in a tight fight for promotion.
Gorran Haven got three points at Lerryn to stay in the picture with Matt Fox, Lee McKinstry and Rob Bunney all winning.
Bethel C jumped up the table after taking four points against their B counterparts with Howard Brett, Ben Stunell and Paul and James Smithson all successful. Craig Nicholls gained the solitary point for the league’s bottom side.
