THE Truro Trail 10K, which took place on Wednesday, June 18, saw 16 Hayle Runners taking part in the last event of the Multi-Terrain Running Series.

There’s no denying that tackling the trail is one for the tenacious race lovers as this course has a somewhat challenging terrain.

Organised by Truro Running Club, the course is a mixture of road, trail, track, hills and muddy sections.

Formerly known as Meet Your Max, it was race 11 of 11 bringing the season to a close. This year’s race saw the final kilometre of the route tweaked a little in comparison to 2024.

Hayle men’s team took second place overall, with Liam O’Neill, Neil Hayhurst, Kieran Murrant and Jon Eldon making up the dream team.

The Hayle Runners’ ladies’ team, which consisted of Fiona Gamble, Florence Davies-Kirsop, Louise Ollivier and Kelly Bills, placed fifth overall.

Not content with placing fifth in the ladies’ team, Fiona Gamble came in second in her 40-44 age category. Matched by Neil Hayhurst placing second in the men’s 40-44 category.

Liam O’Neill notched up a fifth place result in the men’s 35-39 category, but in Hayle Runners’ 60-64 category Jon Eldon ran to first place, a good six minutes ahead second place Phillip Ciano of Perran Trail Runners.
