LADIES’ SECTION
TUESDAY, September 23 saw wall to wall sunshine for Lady Captain's Day.
The format was an individual 18-hole and a nine-hole Stableford.
Following the golf the ladies were treated to a fashion show presented by Lucy Dickman of Swing Out Sister, the clothes brand introduced to Newquay ladies by club professional Andy Evans.
Each outfit was modelled in-house by lady members and was accompanied by an informative description of the technical merits of the garments.
Following on from this, lady captain, Anne Poole, had arranged with the new caterer, Simon Evans, for the ladies to be served with charcuterie sharing platters, and a glass of wine.

The winner of the 18-hole competition was Janet Barker with 36 points. Fiona Pocklington was second with 35, one shot clear of Michelle Burgess in third place.
The prize for the best front nine went to Abi Crosswood with 19 points and the best back nine to Debbie Cain with 17 points.
The nine-hole Stableford was won by Bridie Jones with 20 points, three shots clear of Diana Truscott in second place.
The winners were presented with Prosecco, Slimline Glasses cases and small Crossbody Bags beautifully made by Susan Hodge.
To end proceedings, Anne was presented with a bouquet of flowers by vice-captain, Lesley Pocklington.
