TYLER Harvey swept the board at Truro City’s end of season presentation evening, by winning three of the five awards on offer, writes Gareth Davies.

The 29-year-old striker found the net 27 times during the Tinners’ charge to the Vanarama National League South trophy.

Picking up the top goalscorer award, Harvey also walked away with the Supporters’ and Players’ Player of the Year accolades.

Long-serving club kit man Adam Carpenter was the recipient of City’s Unsung Hero Award, whilst the special Chairman’s Award was won by goalkeeper Dan Lavercombe.

Over 300 fans and invited guests attended the awards ceremony which was held in the Tinners Fan Zone.

Manager John Askey began the presentation of awards by delivering a moving speech, in which he thanked everyone involved with the football club, who had made an impossible dream 12 months ago, become reality.

Dan Sleeman, from Eden Hot Tubs, one of the club’s main sponsors, handed Harvey his award for topping the goalscoring charts before a special video message from club chairman and CEO Eric Perez revealed Dan Lavercombe as winner of the next award.

Captain Connor Riley-Lowe then doubled Harvey’s haul with the Players’ gong and Stewart Yetton, City’s record goalscorer presented Carpenter with his richly deserved accolade.

The final award of the evening, the Supporters’ Player, was handed over to Harvey by City fans Berwyn Finlay and Morgan Hudson.

“Personally, I’d love to share these awards with every player,” Harvey said. “What we go through, I don’t think people see in terms of the travelling, the nights we put in training at a cold Saltmill or a cold Ashburton.

“You, the supporters, see the rewards on a Saturday as we graft week in, week out. So as much as it is nice to win these awards, I deserve it as much as each and everyone of the boys.”
