This Tudor home is hundreds of years old and is said to have the longest thatched roof in Cornwall.
Rosemorran Manor House, in Penzance, has been a staple of the neighbourhood since 1591 - possibly longer - and was originally a Cornish Longhouse.

The house is reputed to have the longest thatch in Cornwall, and was remodelled and extended in a Gothic style in the 18th century, with rumours adding that the front porch once belonged to Gulval Church.
Rosemorran, which is Grade II* listed, is built mainly of granite and has partial upper cob walls at one end with a water reed thatch roof.
The house is fronted by an entrance porch with Gothic arched windows, a barrel ceiling and a tiled floor, leading to a dining room with oak flooring, a cast iron fireplace and hand-painted side panels.

Further through the ground floor is a double height drawing room, which features a central sash window, a sitting room, and four further reception rooms, one of which is currently used as an office.
On this level there is also a study, a kitchen with an Aga wood burner, a utility room and two cloakrooms.

Upstairs, there are six double bedrooms and three family bathrooms, with all of the bedrooms featuring built-in wardrobes - one of which retains an original ‘Chinoiserie’ door.
There are gardens to the front, rear and sides of the property, as well as a large barn containing a garage.

Rosemorran has been brought to market by Strutt & Parker for a price of £1,800,000.
George Hill of Savills Cornwall commented: “Rosemorran Manor is an absolutely fascinating house with an impressive history dating back to Tudor times.
“Reputedly the longest thatched house in Cornwall, the six bedroom home provides 5,477 square feet of accommodation, set within 2.37 acres.
“Not only does it boast a great history but has been carefully refurbished to a high standard by the current owners, using traditional methods, resulting in a very attractive, comfortable and versatile rural home.”
