This award-winning bar for sale sits in the heart of Newquay’s town centre - and is themed around cats. 

Whiskers, in Newquay, opened in 2014 and is a winner of the Best Bar and Best Overall Service titles in Newquay’s Bar and Venue Awards.

The bar was renovated in 2021 and is known for its live music events, with open mic nights on Mondays, live events on Wednesdays and DJs on the weekends. 

As the name suggests, the bar has cat-inspired decor, having been named as a nod to the current owners’ two cats. 

The bar is also geared towards being eco-friendly, with power coming from green electricity company Ecotricity, all cardboard and paper being recycled while all other waste goes to a ‘Zero Waste to Landfill’ site, the current owners buying local, and organic cider being available. 

Inside, the double fronted store opens into the bar and main area, with a feature resin-top sea glass bar, a 1970s style LED dance floor, and a stage with a mobile DJ booth.  

A mezzanine area offers a south mixing booth, a secondary dance floor and seating booths. 

An additional seating area offers a range of tiered booths offering views of the stage, while completing the interior of the building are the customer toilets and a storage area. 

At the back of the property, there is also a custom-built photo booth. 

The property is being sold by David Ball Agencies for a price of £120,000.
