IT’S been a busy and fulfilling time and I’m already actively involved in our community. I wanted to share some exciting updates and highlights from my recent activities.

I had the pleasure of attending a charity bingo event in aid of the Roche pantomime group. I took the opportunity to introduce myself and promised a contribution from my community chest to support their fantastic efforts. The next day, I was back in Roche to support the plant fayre. As a keen gardener, I thoroughly enjoyed the event and created a community Facebook gardening group to connect with fellow gardening enthusiasts.

A planned litter pick was unfortunately cancelled at the last minute, but we turned it into a fantastic “party in the park” with the Bugle Youth Club group. I was there manning the barbecue, interacting with the kids and answering questions from many parents. It was a great way to engage with the community and have some fun at the same time.

I’m also pleased to announce the opening of a new dental practice in our area. I had the privilege of touring the practice, which gave me an insight into the complexities of starting up such a facility. It’s far better than being in the dentist’s chair, and it was an enlightening experience.

I have received an invitation to visit the local school and speak with the headmistress. This is something I’ve been planning for a long time, and I’m looking forward to the opportunity to engage with the school community to discuss how we can further support their needs.

Being your local councillor is a high-energy, demanding role, but it’s one that I’m thoroughly enjoying. I want to assure you that my pledges during the election campaign were not hollow words. I am committed to honouring my promises and working tirelessly for the betterment of our community.
