ARE you interested in living cheaply and improving the planet? Come to the Cheaper Greener Day on Saturday, September 27, at St John’s Methodist Church and the Priory Car Park in St Austell.
The event is being organised by Climate Action St Austell and Community Energy Plus, and is being supported by over 20 organisations.
The day will to be opened by St Austell mayor Cllr Colin Hamilton and St Mewan School Choir will perform.
*Transport is an important aspect of most people’s lives. You can even get fitter and reduce your costs. We have companies with electric and pedal bikes, the cheapest motorcycles to run on the market, or are you interested in an electric car?
*Run your house more efficiently. Community Energy Plus can steer you through improvements to your property with no bias. They just advise you on the possibilities and companies that can help you and hold your hand through the process. We also have companies who have an excellent record in improving energy performance in Cornish homes.
*Food costs are on the rise. Come and see how you can live healthily, cheaply and help save the planet.
*Re-use, reduce, recycle. We have experts who can help you do that.
*Take an active role in helping our environment: plenty of local organisations will show you what they are doing and how you can help.
*Watch the brilliant Cornwall Care films, “Power to the People” and “Down the Drain”. We have a schedule of short talks by our experts who will be able to answer your questions.
There will be teas, coffees and snacks, and filled rolls or baked potatoes at lunchtime.
Climate Action St Austell will give away free trees for the fourth time this year.
We can all make small changes to help the planet.
