PROGRESS is being made at the site of a new commercial development on the outskirts of St Austell.

Aerial pictures by photographer Paul Williams show how the scheme off the A390 Holmbush Road has been coming along.

During the early part of the project, contractors began shaping an embankment to carry a new road into the site which is to the south of the St Austell Cricket Club ground at Wheal Eliza.

Now the road has been constructed and the tarmac laid. The site has been the subject of planning discussions for several years and the final plans for a warehouse there were approved by Cornwall Council last year.

Under the plans, the warehouse will be built for Britannia Lanes of Cornwall and will operate as a self-storage facility.
