THE National Lottery Community Fund has awarded the Friends of Sunny Corner a £300 grant to enable the purchase of wet weather clothing for its volunteers.

Group leader Paul Caruana submitted the bid in the hope the Community Fund would consider it in a good light. “We need a sense of identity when undertaking our work at Sunny Corner,” he said. “Being able to purchase the same colour and type of wet weather gear will enable that to happen.”

A dozen sets of wet weather jackets and trousers are now on order.
