A Newquay wedding venue has plenty to celebrate after winning a national award.

Treseren have been announced as winners of the historic building wedding venue category in The Wedding Industry Awards.

The former Mine Captain’s residence was up against seven other finalists which included former royal residences and vast castles.

Treseren is rich in history and architectural features. The beauty of the house is matched by its private and generous grounds, making it the perfect venue for magical small weddings for up to 22 people.

The venue has gone from strength to strength after launching their unique brand of ‘small weddings that are big on style’ in late 2018.

Treseren have twice been awarded Gold for Wedding Venue of the Year in the Cornwall Tourism Awards and the South-West Tourism Excellence Awards, and have now been recognised on a national level in The Wedding Industry Awards.

The awards are voted for by couples that have married at the venue and judged by industry professionals, with the glamorous awards ceremony taking place at the Underglobe on London’s Southbank. Fellow Cornish wedding business Flicksbox in Mount Hawke were recognised at the event as finalists in the Photo and Video Entertainment Category.

Emma, the owner of Treseren, said: “We are so thankful for this recognition of Treseren and our amazing team, who work so hard to create magical wedding experiences for each and every one of our couples.

“We were up against some amazing venues across the whole of the UK and see this as a huge achievement and mark of success for our small business in Cornwall.

“At Treseren, we have grown to know the secret about small, beautiful weddings.

“Those couples choosing to be selective with their guest list can create a really special and magical experience.  We set out to create a relaxed wedding experience where couples could retreat and enjoy a celebration over a few days, encompassing the wedding day.”
