A Newquay holiday park had plenty to celebrate on Thursday after being named finalists for a national award and officially unveiling its new bar and restaurant.
Hendra Holiday Park held a launch party to give guests the chance to experience the park’s recently refurbished Terrace Bar & Restaurant where the good news was announced that it had been selected as finalists for the Visit England Camping Glamping and Holiday Park of the Year category at the Visit England Awards for Excellence.
Guests sampled the quality of the food and drinks all whilst enjoying a new relaxed restaurant.
The expansion plans have included a brand-new bar, which is four times bigger than the last one, allowing for more efficient ordering.
The new bar features top of the range porta Lancastrian brushed copper fonts, with the aim of promoting Cornish produce.
Cornish Rattler, Berry Rattler and Korev and Tribute are heavily featured on the bar.
The new design hopes to deliver a better customer experience for all, including casual dining, low level seating for drinks and large booth seating for group gatherings.
The Terrace Restaurant & Bar is open from 8:30am in the morning to 10:00pm at night, the varying lighting allows for the restaurant to transform from day into night in line with the menu.
Hendra Holiday Park will go up against Brook Meadow in Leicestershire and The Quiet Site in Cumbria to be crowned gold, silver or bronze at the award ceremony in London on 7th June.
Hendra’s Director Jon Hyatt said: "We’re so chuffed to have made it to the prestigious Visit England finals after winning Gold at the recent SW Tourism Awards.
"What a fantastic achievement for all of our team – we’re very proud and this national accolade represents a lot of hard work, dedication and investment over the years.
"We are very much looking forward to representing Cornwall at the awards ceremony in London.”
Hendra Holiday Park’s Director Tom May added: “We’re so pleased with the outcome of the new restaurant, it really has been transformed and completely unrecognisable from the last restaurant.
"Our staff and suppliers have played a huge part in getting the restaurant completed on time for our first arrivals – a huge thank you to everyone for all their help and support.”
