REPORTS of unexploded ordnance led to a city duck pond being cordoned off to the public today [Monday, February 9].

Devon and Cornwall Police were notified at around 9.35am today following reports of suspected unexploded ordnance being located near the pond at Boscawen Park on Malpas Road, in Truro. Officers attended and the pond was taped off.

The Explosive Ordnance Disposal team attended and confirmed that the item was not ordnance, but a small, hand-held fire extinguisher. The cordon was duly lifted.
