FAMILIES across Cornwall are invited to enjoy a spectacular evening of fireworks and football on Tuesday (November 3).
Truro City Football Club is preparing to light up the skies above its stadium with a magnificent fireworks display, followed by an exciting National League Cup clash against West Bromwich Albion Under-21s.
Gates will open at 5pm, giving families and supporters plenty of time to arrive and enjoy the build-up to the evening's entertainment. The highlight of the evening will see the spectacular display take place shortly before the 7pm kick-off, lighting up the skies before the Tinners take on West Bromwich Albion's exciting young talent.
With children's tickets available from just £2, the club is encouraging families from across Cornwall to come together and enjoy an affordable evening of entertainment.
A spokesperson said: “The event reflects Truro City FC’s continued commitment to bringing the Cornish community together and creating memorable experiences at Truro City stadium beyond the football itself.
“Whether you're a lifelong Tinners supporter or visiting the stadium for the first time, this promises to be an evening not to be missed.” For tickets, visit https://trurocity.co.uk/.
The event will be Truro’s key fireworks display following the cancellation for the second year running of Truro City Council’s charity fundraiser event at Tremorvah Playing Field. Council staff concluded the event, which also featured a bonfire, would be impossible to run safely and affordably in light of new government legislation.
Up to 5,000 people were expected to attend the celebrations in November at Tremorvah, meaning in future it would have to be considered as an “enhanced tier” event under Martyn’s Law, which requires organisers of large public events to implement enhanced measures designed to protect people from harm. While the law does not take effect until 2027, local councils are being encouraged to act as though it is already in force.
