HUNDREDS processed through Cornwall’s city centre when Truro Pride took place on Saturday. Led by Pendennis Brass, the colourful parade - featuring the world’s longest Progress Pride flag, representing all LBGTQ+ communities - marched from Hendra Park to Lemon Quay. Representatives ranged from the emergency services and Citizens Advice Cornwall to St John Ambulance and Cornwall Hospice Care.

Cornwall Pride chief executive Matthew Kenworthy Gomes estimated 10,000 people attended the event. “That’s an incredible footfall for our 67th Pride in Cornwall,” he said. “I’d like to thank all volunteers, organisations and performers who took part, and the retailers who shared their Pride across Truro.”

In Lemon Quay, on a stage kindly provided by St Austell BID, Benji Matthews’ performance of Defying Gravity has since been viewed 250,000 times on Instagram.
