A group of travellers who set up camp at a Newquay sports field on Tuesday night have been moved on.
Newquay Sports Centre had started the process of evicting the travellers from the lower sports field. Devon and Cornwall Police assisted with the relocation.
A police spokesperson confirmed: "Local officers attended with Cornwall Council this morning (July 11), an alternative location on council land was offered to the group which they have moved to."
A spokesperson for Newquay Sports Centre added: “We have managed to move them on in less than 24 hours, with a mixture of hard work from our team, the police and a very noisy Bootcamp Class this early morning.
“Can we ask all members of the public to stay off the fields until we can clean them and remove the human waste littered about.
“Thank you for all the people who reached out to check on the team during these difficult moments.”
To avoid further issues Cornwall Council has installed a CCTV camera at Tregunnel Hill car park and is also looking to install height restricted barriers.
