THE traditional egg and bacon pie competition is being served up in Newquay.

The hotly contested annual competition will be held at Newquay Rowing Club on Sunday, March 8. Entries must be in by 3pm.

Phil Trebilcock from the rowing club said: “The egg and bacon pie competition has been going for more than 25 years.

“It is always an enjoyable afternoon with cash prizes for the winners. After judging everyone eats them following a little donation to Children’s Hospice South West.

“People don’t have to be a member of the rowing club to participate and it’s nice to say If you win, I’ve won the egg and bacon pie competition.”
