THREE people have been taken to hospital following a multi-vehicle collision on the A390 near Truro.

Emergency services were called at around 8.30am after reports of a crash involving two cars and a van on the Probus Bypass.

Police, fire and ambulance crews attended the scene, while an air ambulance was also called upon to assist. It is not yet known what injuries the occupants have sustained.

The stretch of road on the A390 remains closed in both directions, with drivers warned to avoid the area. As a result of the closure, the village of Probus is experiencing increased traffic as drivers take alternative routes.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: “We were called at around 8.30am on Wednesday, January 28, following a report of a road traffic collision involving three vehicles on the A390 near Probus.

“The fire and ambulance services have also both attended. A road closure has been put in place. Three people have been taken to hospital. The extent of their injuries is not yet known. The incident is ongoing.
