British music icons The Manfreds bring their celebrated Maximum Rhythm N Blues Show to the Hall for Cornwall in Truro on Sunday, November 16.

Featuring original members of the chart-topping 1960s band Manfred Mann - including Paul Jones (vocals, harmonica) and Tom McGuinness (guitar, vocals) - the show promises an unforgettable experience for fans of all ages.

Manfred Mann burst onto the scene in the early 1960s with hits like 5-4-3-2-1, composed as the theme tune for TV show Ready Steady Go! Their distinctive sound, characterised by sharp lyrics and bluesy rhythms, quickly propelled them to the top of the charts; number one hits like Do Wah Diddy Diddy, Pretty Flamingo and The Mighty Quinn cemented their status as pop legends.

Over six decades, The Manfreds have enjoyed sold-out tours, critically acclaimed performances and a loyal fan base that spans generations. Earlier this year, they performed a triumphant set at Glastonbury, while singer Paul Jones performed Manfreds songs on BBC Jools Holland’s Annual Hootenanny at the turn of 2024.

The current Manfreds line-up includes Marcus Cliffe (bass), Simon Currie (saxophone), Pete Riley (drums) and Mike Gorman (keyboards). They are joined by vocalist Noel McCalla, known for his work with Manfred Mann's Earth Band, adding songs like Blinded by the Light and Davy’s on the Road Again to The Manfreds’ repertoire.

With a career-spanning setlist, The Manfreds will take audiences on a journey through the evolution of British rhythm and blues, highlighting songs that have defined an era. Expect raw energy and masterful musicianship, classic hits and a few surprises.

Maximum Rhythm and Blues With The Manfreds comes to the Cornwall Playhouse stage on Sunday, November 16 at 7.30pm. Tickets can be booked over the phone on 01872 262466 or online at hallforcornwall.co.uk.
