Applications are set to open for TEDxPorthtowanWomen – a TEDx event is 2026 dedicated to showcasing women’s voices in Cornwall.
Taking place on International Women’s Day – Sunday, March 8, 2026 - at Mount Pleasant Eco Park, the theme will be Breaking the Mould: Every Generation Empowered.
The team behind the event are looking for 10 speakers to present 15 to 18 minute talks on big ideas and their experience as women in Cornwall, and to share their wisdom with the next generation to create a legacy of change.
TEDx license holder Anna Lempriere said: “Through TEDxPorthtowanWomen, we want to celebrate the strength, achievements and potential of women across every generation in Cornwall. We want to create a platform for women from all walks of life to be seen.
“We are interested in hearing from those already known, hidden women, busy women, women out there doing their thing with huge amounts of wisdom we could learn from.
“Our mission is to create a vibrant platform of learning, led and upheld by women, where voices across generations and cultures can be heard, ideas and stories can be shared and collective wisdom can flourish.”
Applications are now open at https://tedxporthtowanwomen.co.uk/ and will close on Monday, December 1. All speakers must be living in Cornwall and self-identify as a woman.
The organising committee for TEDxPorthtowanWomen are especially interested in ideas relating to:
