THE tale of a quack doctor who scandalised Victorian Cornwall will be the topic of a forthcoming history talk.

Will Hazell will be talking about the Untold Story of Doctor Dick at Newquay Museum Group’s talk, which will be held in the Great Western Hotel Function Room on Tuesday, December 11 at 7.30pm.

Len Sheppard from Newquay Museum said: “We might laugh at some of the trickery and work done by 'quack doctors' with little or no medical knowledge from Victorian times but the repercussions on their patients could often be tragic. Richard Pascoe was one such person here in Cornwall who was put on trial on a number of occasions. All are welcome to attend.”
