The first wave line-up for a popular four-day festival of food, music, culture and family fun has been announced.
The Rock Oyster Festival, which will be held at Dinham House, near Rock, between July 25 and 28, will be headlined the legendary Sugababes and London four-piece Bombay Bicycle Club.
Sugababes are firmly cemented as one of the most successful British girl-bands of the 21st century with six number one singles including Round Round and Push The Button, millions of global sales and multiple multi-platinum albums.
Along the way they told one of the most spectacular stories of the modern pop era. Fast forward two decades, the original line up of Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan and Siobhan Donaghy have reunited in full force to the delight of fans, and Rock Oyster is super excited to welcome Mutya, Keisha and Siobhan as this year’s Saturday night headliners.
Hailing from North London, Bombay Bicycle Club burst onto the scene with their 2009 debut, I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose. Comprised of singer/ guitarist Jack Steadman, guitarist Jamie MacColl, drummer Suren de Saram, and bassist Ed Nash, the band initially formed while at University before becoming one of the biggest British guitar bands of the past decade. Fresh off their brand-new top 10 record with features from Chaka Khan, Damon Albarn, Holly Humberstone and more, we’re delighted to welcome them to Cornwall.
Fresh from her appearance on Graham Norton last Friday, get set to welcome rising Irish star Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson (aka CMAT) to Rock Oyster next Summer. CMAT has already scored two number one albums in Ireland and with huge things expected over the next year, she’s not to be missed.
Also joining next year’s spectacular bill is Billie Marten who first came to prominence at the age of 12, before signing with Sony at just 15-years-old.
A decade on, Billie is still forging her own musical path, releasing her beautiful top ten album Drop Cherries earlier this year.
Making a warm return to the Camel Estuary next year is London via Leeds eight piece Gentleman’s Dub Club. Elsewhere on the bill, Rock Oyster have announced ASkillz and blues rockers Wille and the Bandits.
Known and loved for an unmissable line up of world-class culinary stars, Rock Oyster welcomes back Michelin starred seafood chef Nathan Outlaw, of Outlaw’s New Road and Outlaw’s Fish Kitchen. Joining Nathan is Tom Brown, founder of London’s Michelin starred ‘Cornerstone’ and ‘Pearly Queen’, which opens in Shoreditch in November 2023. Tom, who is originally from Cornwall, has previously worked under both Rick Stein and Nathan Outlaw.
Elsewhere Rock Oyster welcomes Emily Scott, Jack Stein and Thuy Diem Pham. The festival has also announced extensive additions to its feasting and food programme with further details to be unveiled shortly.
