SCHOOLCHILDREN have been learning about how to keep safe at the beach.

Blue School took part in Splash School run by Surf Life Saving Great Britain and the RNLI, which saw pupils educated on where to look for dangers and what to do if there is an emergency.

Teacher Andrew Robey said: “Splash School was such a success as it was a real celebration of children making the most of what Newquay has to offer.

“The children had a great time, and I wouldn't be surprised if some ended up lifeguarding on Newquay's beaches.

“A huge thank you to Newquay Schools Network, Surf Life Saving GB, Newquay and Watergate Surf Life Saving Clubs for making the day happen.”
