NEWQUAY schoolchildren have enjoyed a vibrant finale to the end of their summer term.

Newquay Junior Academy staged its annual Rainbow Run to culminate its wellness week.

Pupils were covered in all the colours of the rainbow when they reached different paint stations along the route on the school field.

The school took part in various activities as part of its wellness week, which included a visit from Healthy Cornwall to talk about health, sleep and screen time.

They also took part in team building exercises and took part in a lesson in learning about different careers. An academy spokesperson said: “We celebrated the vibrant finale of wellness week with our now traditional Rainbow Run and what a joyful day it was.

“Full of colour, laughter, and energy. It's no wonder this event has become a highlight of the school year.

“A huge thank you to the brilliant Miss Rai for once again organising such a fantastic day. Her hard work and enthusiasm continue to make this event truly special.”
