A high-voltage (HV) power outage is currently occurring in Truro and the surrounding areas. The incident was reported at 11.06am this morning (Friday, January 23).

National Grid reported that around 643 properties are affected in postcode areas starting with TR1 and TR3. These include Newham Industrial Estate and Copperfields residential estate in Truro, and further afield in villages including Playing Place. Meanwhile residents in Malabar and Highertown have reported flickering lights on social media.

The incident coincides with the arrival of Storm Ingrid in Cornwall. Power was predicted to be restored by 1pm today, but by 2pm, 211 properties in the TR3 postcode area remained without power.
