A popular Newquay night spot is relaunching on Thursday following a refit.
The Dead Famous on Beach Road has once again transformed its shape and size after a six week refurbishment.
The venue is staging a soft opening on Thursday and the Peeky Peepsters Valentine’s Ball on Friday, which will feature burlesque and drag queens alongside Dj’s.
Owner and operator Ian Whittaker said: “We had wanted to move the bar into the main part of the venue for sometime and we have finally done just that."
The music focused venue is celebrating 25 years of operating after originally opening as The Koola in 1998 and then being rebranded to The Dead famous in 2018.
Over the years the venue has staged an impressive list of bands and Dj’s including the likes of Ice T, Calvin Harris, Muse, Kaiser Chiefs, Groove Armada, Goldie, and more recently John Newman and Holly Humberstone.
The Dead Famous has always promoted local acts and singers with numerous album launches and events.
Ian said: “We have an impressive selection of spirits and cocktails including our very own chilli spiced rum which is ready for tasting.
“Hot Fangs Chilli Spiced Rum will feature in a selection of the venue’s cocktails.
“We are warned it has quite a bite.
“The Dead Famous will also be serving up some house vodkas with unique ingredients.
“Sure to be a favourite is a shot of Sweet Mermaid.
“You’re going to have to visit the bar to find out what it’s all about.
Check the venue’s socials for forthcoming gigs and events.
