POLICE are investigating reports a sheep was chased off a cliff at Polly Joke on Sunday.

A man allegedly watched as two children chased the “mother” sheep off the edge of the cliff and then became “aggressive” when challenged by a member of the public.

The incident was reported to the local farmer and Devon and Cornwall Police.

A police spokesperson said: “We have been notified of a report of a sheep being chased over a cliff edge in the Polly Joke area of Newquay on Sunday, July 27.

“It was reported one of the individuals responsible was then aggressive to a member of the public when challenged. Enquiries are ongoing into the incident.”
