Police are appealing for witnesses to a road tragedy in which a driver died.

Officers were called to Berry Road in Newquay shortly after 5.15pm on Monday (November 28).

The collision involved a Blue BMW X5 and a pedestrian

The driver of the BMW, a local man in his 70s, was pronounced deceased at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

The pedestrian, a local man in his 60s, was taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth with what police describe as serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.
