PLANS are proposed to convert a mechanic’s garage in Newquay into a house.

A change of use planning application from a commercial mechanic garage on Mount Wise to a dwelling over the existing building and retaining the ground floor as garaged parking/storage area has been submitted to Cornwall Council.

The planning statement said: “It is proposed to form a one-bedroom dwelling above the existing building.

“The ground floor will retain the existing concrete slab floor this will become a garaged parking area for the new dwelling along with a storage area and access to the first floor dwelling will be provided on the east elevation with an access door providing access to storage area and the stairway to the first floor dwelling.”
